Step 1: Asses your situation, look at the lines and curves of your install location. Taking your Halyard Hanger in one hand and what it is you will be hanging in the other and visually placing them on the surface will greatly help you in choosing the install location.

Step 2: It is not required but laying down tape as a guide is helpful in assuring accurate placement and allows you to mark your surface without leaving any permanent markings.

Step 3: Mark the location of holes to be drilled. A helpful tip is to mark the top hole first and then use a plumb, or anything that hangs, to make sure your bottom hole is verticaly in line with your top hole.

Step 4: Drill the holes. A helpful tip is to drill the top holes first, and then place the Halyard Hanger on the location and hold it in place with another bit through the top hole, and drill through the bottom hole, this will ensure that the spacing is perfect

Step 5: Remove tape (if you used it), clean and prep the surface for installing your Halyard Hangers

Step 5: Remove tape (if you used it), clean and prep the surface for installing your Halyard Hangers.   -optional-  If using through bolts, round out the hole slightly with a phillips head screw driver, this will insure the silicone in step 6 can form a perfect water tight seal.

Step 6: -Optional- We recommend, though it is not necessary, applying a very small amount of silicone to the back and threads of your Halyard Hanger, this will ensure a snug fit and a perfect seal. BE SURE TO CLEAN ANY EXCESS OF YOUR SURFACE, we dont want any left over silicone detracting from your stylish new install.

Step 7: Screw in your Halyard Hangers!  If using through bolts you may want to get a friend to help you out; for the perfect look have the person on the Halyard Hanger side line up both through bolts so they are aligned (like so + + as opposed to + x),and hold them aligned in place with a screw driver while you tighten the nuts from the back.
